Mournful Monday has finally come! It feels like ages ago I had pitched the idea of this to Ylva, and it is so good to have it launched on the grid. We both were watching green dots fly across the various regions today.
Sometimes being an event organizer isn’t about the event itself, but what you can do for your designers you have cultivated for your event. Second Life Syndicate has a fabulous Family of Designers, and when we heard cries of stress, we decided to do something about it.
Mournful Monday isn’t a sim event, nor is is a sales round, but a instore Mini Event, to just let designers be designers, and make stuff for their stores. They don’t have to worry about sticking to weird themes, or making something that doesn’t fit their store. They can just play, create and have fun, while bringing something new to their Mainstore.
You, the customer, get to pop on by and see what they are up to. If the Mournful items aren’t your cup of tea, well maybe just maybe something else will catch your eye, or you will find a new store to enjoy.
That is the goal anyway.
I hope you enjoy the vision of this project. I’ve always just wanted to help people in sl, and since coming back, a lot of the designers I talk to just seem to be huge stress balls. While most wouldn’t think another event would be the solution, and even I was mildly against it. I do feel like this will at least help some people, so even if a few have some lighter days, my goal has been met.
Okay . . . Enough with the rambling!
I have to admit to not really being that into the Home & Garden Sector of SL. I’ve never actually had a home, not a legit one. I have had many workrooms over the years, but I didn’t ever do too much with them, as it was more for the building and testing that somewhere to hang.
I have made an effort since coming back, to collect some more thing and actually try to get decent at making decorated spaces.
I do tend to collect a lot of candles and skulls, so maybe that worked out some?
I had fun digging for things to throw on this Struts Coffin Shelf.
Ylva and I had a good laugh at the title of this book, made by Short Leash. It comes with a hud that changes all book, candles and rope textures. You can also click it and it dispenses a wearable candle.
Lastly, my RL sister has these Crown Wall Art Frames over at her shop. There is a selection of gothy colours, but this special edition one is by far my favorite. She also has a group gift version, for her inworld group.
