So the site is launched, and I can finally get back to working on parts of it that I really enjoy and love, and not be all hidden behind the scenes, dealing with code, photos and links. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind making that sort of content for the site. I just love being able to do the fashion blogging too, and I haven’t had any time for that.
Freebie Fridays is a fav of mine, and for the first one back, I had to feature some Engine Room 1st Anniversary Group Gift Goodies! Engine room runs until Oct. 20th, so you still have loads of time to come on by and grab these goodies. The group is free to join, and it is where we let you know all the awesome stuff we do on the site, but inworld. We have tons of things planned for the next coming months, so it would be worth it to keep a spot open for us, and stay in the group.
There are a lot of interesting things to play with at the event, and it is rather easy to make completed looks in different ‘punk styles. I did have a bit of a challenge with this hat. None of my hairs seemed to work, and even on my alt, who owns hairs from over 500 different designers, I was having issues. So I went with a simple wispy hairbase, and called it a day. I really don’t mind it this way, I feel like I just bunned up all my locks and ticked it under the hat.
I think the thing I had the most fun with were these eyes from Petrichor. They have so many options for colours, as well as pupil, shadow, eyeshines and overlays. The overlays are animated, and twirl about. It took me a bit to get use to the hud, and my one tip would be to make sure you have it set to both eyes, mine started on just let, and I didn’t realize at first that there was a button to switch from left, right and both.
Some of you might not know about this little shop, it has been around a while, called Stix. The Designer makes skins mostly, as well as eyes, makeups, shapes and other things from time to time. I have been supporting this shop for a long time now, and thought with halloween coming up, I’d tell you about it. Stix does have normal toned skins, which are lovely, and I wear often when human toned, but what I come to the store for is the unique coloured skins and designs. If you join the group, and click thru the group gift vendor in the store, you can nab yourself Kamala, which comes in every tone that Stix has to offer. It is a good way to test the tones, and see what will work for you. It is also a very easy skin to work with, makeup wise. I also haven’t had too many issues with using it on various heads/bodies. Stix also has a discount skin being sold at The Makeover Room, which looks rather interesting.
